He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarita and Jose Alfonso Saldana Sr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Clara M. Saldana; children, Kymberli Nadine Saldana and Jose Alfonso Saldana III (Christina); grandchildren, Madelynn Saldana and Jose Alfonso Saldana IV; siblings, Guadalupe Saldana (Erma) and Maria Margarita Saldana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jose A. Saldana Jr. graduated from South San Antonio High School in 1976. He was in the retail business for over 25 years. Once Jose retired he spent his Friday nights supporting his Alma mater at the football games. He also spent every morning/afternoon at Connie’s Cafe eating breakfast and lunch. Every customer that walked in there knew him. Even when he would go on family vacations out of state he always ran into a friend. He loved joking around with everyone, even if he just met them. Jose loved cooking, watching football, listening to the police scanner, and most of all being with his family. He was well known throughout the Southside community. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph (So. San) Catholic Church. He will truly be missed by friends, family, and all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at St. Joseph's (So San) Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph's (So San) Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
