Jose Salazar

Jose Salazar entered into the loving arms of our Lord on June 19, 2024 at the tender age of 80. He was born on March 19, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Dolores Rodriguez and Lorenzo Villalobos Sr.

Jose was a simple man, he enjoyed the small things in life. He was the youngest of three girls and was easily the baby in the family. At a young age he enjoyed walking around his neighborhood. As he got older he enjoyed watching western movies and loved to listen to music. He loved to follow the local groups in San Antonio, such as Sunny and the Sunliners, Royal Jesters and many other local bands.

Jose will be reunited in heaven with his mother, Dolores Villalobos; sisters, Angelina V. Ybarra, Petra V. Salazar and Mary Nieves Villalobos; brothers, Lorenzo Villalobos Jr., and Refugio (Uncle Red) Salazar.

His memory will forever live in his nephews, Henry V. Salazar and wife Diana, Edward V. Salazar and wife Cynthia, Samuel Ybarra Jr. and wife Sue. Nieces, Mary Christina Contreras and Sylvia Ybarra Moncada; he will also be dearly missed by all his great-nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The Salazar family would also like to give a special thank you to all the wonderful nurses and staff at The Atrium Rehab and Vitas Hospice that helped care for Jose.

A visitation for Jose will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A rosary and funeral service will occur Monday, July 1, 2024 from 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A committal service will occur Monday, July 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Memorial Park & Crematory, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Road, San Antonio, Texas 78239.
