Jose P. Zamarripa, born on December 30, 1927 went to be with our Lord on April 23, 2019 at the age of 92. Jose is a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served his country for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bartolo and Caterina Zamarripa; siblings, Juanita Aguilar, Isabel Ochoa and Pablo Zamarripa. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Armida Zamarripa and daughter, Betty Ann Zamarripa; siblings, Juan Zamarripa, Eloy Zamarripa (Josie) and Esther Castillo (Richard); numerous nieces and nephews. Jose loved his pet Jackson and making crafts out of wood. He also enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends. A special thank you goes to his CNA Estella in Trinity Hospice, who always was big help to Jose and his family. Another special thank you goes to his nieces, Mary Elizabeth Medina and Norma Gallegos who were very helpful and kind to Mr. Jose. He will be dearly missed by all his close family and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78237 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
