Jose Lopez, Jr., husband, father, grandfather, friend and Marine, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Consuelo G. Lopez; his sons, Jose Lopez III (Abelina), Hector Lopez and Robert Lopez; his daughter, Norma Evenski (Stephen); daughter-in-law, Suzan P. Lopez; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Lopez (Herlinda), Rene Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Rebecca Lopez, Lauren Evenski, Bret Evenski, Christopher Lopez and Justin Lopez. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 to celebrate a 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at the San Fernando Cathedral. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Military Detachment Unit at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the South Texas Veteran’s Hospital System Audie L. Murphy Division - 6th Floor; A heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Ivan Rivera, as well as Corazon, Dee, Howard, and Lily in CCU, and Araceli, Carmen, Esperanza (Hope), Louis, Maribelle, Robert, Sandy and Scott in 6B.
