Our beloved Jose S.M. Flores 93, resident of Austin, passed peacefully to join the heavenly father on October 23, 2019 in San Antonio, TX. Jose was born to Jose and Andrea Flores on August 28, 1926 in Eagle Pass, TX. Mr. Flores was a humble, honest and hardworking man that instilled in his family all of the same values and dedicated 24 of those years to his country and the United States Military in multiple branches and fearlessly served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a firefighter with the United States Air Force in 1969. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and loyal airman and friend that will be dearly missed.
Mr. Flores was preceded in death by his parents and his beautiful wife of 63 years Rosa Maria Flores and is survived by his children Jose M. Flores and his wife Patricia, Mary Alice Sosa and her husband Luis, Sergio R. Flores and his wife Maricela, grandchildren Christina I. Mendoza, Linda A. Burch, Luis F. Sosa III, Deanna L. Pruneda, Jose M. Sosa, Sergio C. Flores, and Joshua M. Flores, great grandchildren Joseph, Madison, Cash, Teagan, Noah and Luke, numerous other family members and a host of friends from all periods of his life. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and close friends that he has touched.
A Committal Service with full U.S. Military Honors to commemorate his many years of dedication will be held at 1pm Tuesday, November 5th at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road San Antonio, Texas 78209.
