Jose enjoyed fishing as well as riding his bike. He loved to be outside and breathe in the fresh air and look at the sunrise and sunset. In his younger years, Jose used to be part of St. Cecilia's choir where he sang during the services.
Dad was known for being a fighter, he went through many challenges in life and always overcame them. He was an absolute fighter and even until his very last day when doctors said it wouldn’t make it, he proved them wrong.
Jose is survived by his daughter Alisette Davila-Alcala; son Sigifredo Davila; grandkids Dominic Davila, Rosaly Davila, Sebastian Alcala, Noah Alcala, Samaya Alcala, Bella Davila and Maximus Davila; sisters Guadalupe Davila and Dora Caldera; nieces and nephews; and girlfriend Margarita Landa.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents Sigifredo and Leonor Davila; brother David Davila; Sisters Oralia Reyes, Eva Munoz and Reyna Salinas; his children's mother Eva Maria Chavez.
Jose will be missed by those who knew him.
A visitation for Jose will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary will occur Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St Cecilia's Catholic Church, 125 W Whittier St, San Antonio, TX 78210.
