George Luera, or as his great-grandson called him, Choche. He was a father of 3, grandfather of 9, and great-grandfather of 2. One of latest memories of him was in the hospital when his niece came to visit. She asked him when he would be going back to Monterrey? His response was no surprise, soon, he said. The same 82 yr old grandfather who was still attending the Y to go swimming. As some of you may know. I’m glad I had the opportunity to live with him. I saw him in a different light, a different version of him. I saw a friend, an honest one, that was a man of routine, but also a spontaneous one. He would travel for a good bite to eat, w. We enjoyed finding new spots, and boy did he like traveling. Til this day, one of my earliest memories of him was watching him play solitaire at his bed, and in thinking about it, I can also hear him shuffling his cards. I wouldn’t doubt that is what he was doing right now.
