John Lewis Young Jr.

John Lewis Young Jr., age 75 of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on April 9, 2019. He was born February 4, 1944 in Miami, Florida to the late John Lewis Young Sr. and May Florence Bethel. John was a tenacious and hardworking man and the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters. John honorably served in the U.S. Army for 27 years and retired as a First Sergeant. After serving his country John became a civil servant for more than 10 years, working for the Department of Defense MWR Child Care Development Program. In 2006 John retired and spent most of his free time doing yard work, visiting his friends and donating as much as he could to non profit charitable organizations. In recent years, John was a dedicated man of God who attended church regularly.

John Lewis Young Jr. is preceded in death by his parents; John Lewis Young Sr., and May Florence (Bethel) Young.

He is survived by his wife; Paola (Pinto) Young, children; Kendra and Kevin Young.

Committal Services and Military Honors will be held on April 26th, 2019 at 10:15 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter 2).
