John Robert Whiteley, age 88, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. John was born in Bangs, Texas on October 10, 1935 to John Richard Whiteley and Georgia Udell Avant Whiteley.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean Whiteley.
John is survived by his children, David Whiteley, Donna Nystrom and her husband Charles, Myra Jean Sanders; grandsons, John Cox and Charles Nystrom; brother, George Whiteley; sister, Dora Whiteley.
A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238 with a rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road, San Antonio, TX 78251. A committal service will occur Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
