John Paul Villarreal Sr.

John Paul Villarreal, Sr. was born in Westphalia, TX on June 26, 1935 to Roque and Trinidad Villarreal, entered into rest with the Lord on June 21, 2014 in San Antonio, TX. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a very generous man. John was a landscape gardener who worked for over 60 years and wishes to express his thanks to employers, P.H. Swearingen Sr. and family, Fidel Chamberlain, Stanley Morgan and Mrs. Sally Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Jovita L. Villarreal; daughters, Bea Goodman (Louis), Sylvia Villarreal; son, John Paul Villarreal, Jr. (Cindy); and his daughter, Lu Gutierrez (Joe); 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Adela Castillo, Rosa Lujan and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Also wanted to extend his thanks to the healthcare providers and all his friends and neighbors. With special thanks to Optum Hospice for all the wonderful care he received.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park.
