John Ellis Sanders of San Antonio, Texas passed away at home at the age of 95 surrounded by his loving family. He proudly served as a medic in the US Army from 1937-1972. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Johnny never met a stranger and loved making people smile; no one ever left his presence without hearing a new joke. He is survived by Lucille, his loving wife of 67 years; two brothers, Nate and Bob Sanders; six sons, Mike (Ruth), Dale, Gene (Sue), Billy (Tracy), Jimmy (Tammy) and Danny; three daughters, Yvonne, Patty (Louis) and Susan as well as 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. He will be forever loved and missed.
