John Michael Herlihy, age 69, passed away December 30, 2016 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on April 4, 1947 in Somerville, MA to Jeremiah & Mary Herlihy. He was a loving husband, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
He received his BA in History at Merrimack College in 1965 and his MA in German History at the University of Massachusetts. He worked in the Insurance Industry in many cities including Boston, Toronto, Atlanta, San Antonio and retiring in 2012. John was an avid golfer enjoying the game itself but also the camaraderie with his golfing buddies. He also kept up an active interest in local, national and world events, especially political happenings.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Keyes; brothers, Joseph and Jeremiah Herlihy and their families.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January, 5, 2017 at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
