Joe L. Wilson, age 65, passed away after a short and difficult battle with Cancer and its after affects. Joe was raised in Alva, OK, a small town in Northern Oklahoma. Growing up with his father and two uncles serving in the military during the Vietnam War, he knew that one day he would also join. Joe retired from the Air Force after 20 years, serving as an Aircraft Mechanic working on the A-10 Warthog during Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia. His love for his country was obvious as he volunteered for any assignment necessary during his 20-year service.
After his retirement, he dedicated the rest of his life to his family. There was nothing more important to him than his wife of 45 years, his three children and 7 grandchildren. He was at every baseball, football, volleyball, and soccer game doing battle with any coach that dared to criticize his child or grandchild. He would stand in the rain, hot or cold weather to watch his daughter’s band competitions. He was at the bedside of his wife, child, or grandchild when they were sick never leaving the hospital until someone told him everything was going to be okay.
He shared his love for his Country, Family, History, NASCAR, & Classic Rock with anyone who would listen.
His wife, Janie, his children, Michael, Kimberley, Marc and their spouses, Miguel and Paty, and his grandchildren, Jovanne, Savanna, Sophia, Sabrina, Arabelle, Zaric and Lola will miss him for the rest of their lives. Joe is survived by this wife, children, grandchildren, his sister, Denise Martin, and many relatives in Oklahoma.
