Joe C. Flores

Joe C. Flores, 88, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born April 12, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas to Luis and Dolores Cruz Flores. Mr. Flores was a World War II Army Veteran and then retired from Civil Service at Kelly AFB after almost 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gumecinda Flores; parents, Luis and Dolores Cruz Flores; brothers, Feliberto C. Flores, Jesse C. Flores, Antonio C. Flores and Luis C. Flores; sisters, Lupe Plata, Janie Picaso and his faithful four-legged companion, Freddy. He is survived by his daughters, Melinda Flores Chavez and husband Richard, Patricia Flores; grandsons, Stephen Daniel Chavez and wife Seleñia, Matthew Joseph Chavez; great grandson, Aarón Jesse Chavez and numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. The procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. for the funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church, 3231 El Paso St. The interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
