Joe Lara Cruz, born January 13, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas was called to be with the Lord on November 29, 2014 at the age of 79. He proudly served in the Navy from 1952 to 1960, and retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his grandson Kevin Cruz Santoyo. He is survived by his daughter Patricia C. Santoyo (Ricardo G. Gonzales) and grandchildren: Gabrielle Santoyo, Isabella Gonzales, Denise Gonzales, and Rico Gonzales. He leaves behind numerous relatives and friends both near and far. He had an unconditional love for life, family, golfing, traveling, and sharing endless stories. A visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A procession will depart the funeral home after an 11:00 a.m. Chapel Service with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
