JoAnne Hand Weaver

JoAnne Weaver, 91, passed into the Lord's hands Thursday, August 28, with her family by her side. JoAnne was born December 28, 1922 in St. Cloud to A.J. and Doris Hand. JoAnne was a determined, spiritual, forever-young woman who enjoyed a variety of life's activities; from bowling to swimming to sports, dancing, music, traveling and social events. Of these, bowling was her favorite. She was a league bowler and member of the 300 Club. She enjoyed watching sports, especially football and basketball as well as attending her children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. She was also a member of the Oak Hills Ladies Club and routinely attended gatherings. JoAnne loved big band music and dancing. She danced with family just days before her death. JoAnne was a devout Catholic and Christian. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She graciously gave to many charities. JoAnne held several vocations; professional model, librarian, realtor and business owner (Academy of Driver's Education). Her greatest achievements, however, were serving as wife and mother in which her legacy will live on.

JoAnne is survived by two of her children, Pamela Burns and Loren Shelton, Jr. and wife Patricia, grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Mike Arch, Dana and Jeff Kisel, Heather and Andy Bailey, Loren Shelton, Francis Shelton, Gidget Boehler and Vance and Tammy Boehler, great-grandchildren Cameron, Carley, Casey, Joshua, Hannah, Loren Isaac, Jr. and Lillian, Allison and Eryn and Zebediah, great-great grandchild Rayleigh along with additional family and friends. JoAnne is preceded in death by her children Nancy Boehler and Gary Shelton, husbands Loren Shelton Sr., Cotton Jarocszewski and Al Weaver, sisters Marcel Abram, Delores Wahlberg and brother Vincent Hand.

Memorial and Rosary service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on September 18th @ 7pm. 1701 Austin Highway, SA TX 78218. Funeral mass to follow on September 19th @ 12 noon at St. Pius X Catholic Church 3909 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, TX 78209.
