Even though I cant be there physically Uncle Paul I will be there with you in spirit. May God comfort us all as we rejoice that she has finally in a place of no more pain and mourn that we will not see her again here on earth. Rest in peace Aunt Joan, and I will see you on the other side.

Paul, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.  I have so many wonderful memories of JB (Joan) during our days at McCallum, UT, Austin, Corpus, and all the emails from San Antonio the past five years.  She was a very, very special person and was an inspiration with her strong faith, her humor, and her love of family.  God has a very special place for her.

Joan was a lovely girl and woman, and an important part of our McCallum High School Class of 1958.  She'll be missed by many, and my sincere sympathy to her family, that you may find comfort in her continuing presence in your hearts and cherished memories.

I'll miss you so much, Aunt Joan! I wish I was in Texas to get to say good-bye one last time, but I look forward to seeing you again in heaven.

Dear Paul,   For several reasons I won't be able to make it to SA tomorrow and I'm so sorry.  Of course we friends think of ourselves and how much we will miss our wonderful, fun and funny friend, Joan.  But I know our grief can't compare to yours and Brad's and Jay's and the rest of your family.
