JoAnn McDonald was born in San Antonio Texas on March 2, 1956 to parents Ezelle McDonald and Luz Cardosa and peacefully departed this world on January 31, 2024. She went to school in San Antonio, and graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She worked in the department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at University Hospital San Antonio for 32 years where she was recognized for Outstanding service as a Clinical Instructor and lab technician. JoAnn was passionate about her position and was the go-to for answers to questions from other lab technicians. Throughout her life JoAnn was intermittently involved with the church one of her memorable experiences was traveling with the church and friends to Alaska (river boat rafting). She was always willing to help out family and friends providing shelter to her nephew and niece Jeremy and Roxanne during their time of need.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, nephew-Jeremy and nieces Roxanne and Misty.
JoAnn is survived by her brother James Jackson (Michelle, sister-in-law) his children Lauren, Spencer, and Dylan. & her brother Esiquio Espinosa (Ida, sister-in-law) daughter Michelle.
A memorial service for Jo Ann will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
The brother James wishes to extend his sincere thanks to all the neighbors who assisted JoAnn with everyday life situations involving trips to Walmart and all the restaurants she enjoyed frequenting.
