Jesus L Martinez

Jesus L. Martinez, 94, of San Antonio, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home following an extended illness. He was born July 28, 1922 in Monterrey Nuevo León, Mexico. On July 31, 1949 he married the love of his life Felipa (Manzanares) Martinez who survives.

Mr. Martinez was a Catholic by faith. He retired from the Manco Prestress Company after 31 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are his six children, Mary (Jerry) Winger, of Ocala, FL, Joe (Laura) Martinez of San Antonio,

Delfina (Joseph) Broyles of Yorktown, VA, Rachel (Kevin) Foster of San Antonio, Jesse (Barbara) Martinez of Powell, OH and Steve Martinez of San Antonio; twelve grandchildren: Joey (Estelle) Broyles, Dana (Brad) Johnson, Aaron (Jessica) Broyles, Liza (Paul) Nestor, Brandon (Nicole) Foster, Matthew Foster, Courtney Martinez, Amanda (Coy) Kellems, Chelsea Martinez, Justin Martinez, Kyle (Joy) Martinez and Ellise Martinez; fifteen great-grandchildren, Alec, Tiffany, Autumn, Sierra, Cayden, Zoey, Wesley, Joshua, Averie, Briston, Triston, Cayden, Cameron, Felicity, Tinsley.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three great-grandsons, Carson, Payton and Price.

Friends may call from 6-9 PM on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East San Antonio, TX where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM on Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 South Santa Rosa Ave. San Antonio. Burial will conclude in the Mission Burial Park Northin San Antonio.
