Jesus Salazar Esquivel

Jesus “Pop” Salazar Esquivel was born on August 7, 1922 in Austin to Natividad and Guadalupe Esquivel. He was called to be with the Lord on August 10, 2015 at the age of 93. Nearing graduation at Lanier High School he left school to support World War ll. He completed 38 years of Civil Service. He married Asencion Esquivel in 1943 and lovingly raised his children and grandchildren throughout 72 years of marriage. Throughout his life he was committed to family and always ready to help anyone. His memory will live on in our hearts forever. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Irene Esquivel Heiser and other siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Asencion G. Esquivel; daughters, Ophelia E. Beltran, Virginia Esquivel; son Carlos Esquivel (Sylvia); 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation begins at 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The procession departs the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, for a 10:00 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1321 El Paso St. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
