

Jesse Randall Salcedo, age 53, passed away suddenly, June 23, 2023. Jesse was born on November 15, 1969, in Kansas City, MO to Sherry Ellis and Jesse Salcedo. He was an only child. Jesse attended UTSA where he met DeDe in an “Introduction to Anthropology” class. It was February of 1991. They both knew they were soulmates and married later that year on August 17. Jesse and DeDe were very happily married for 31 years.Jesse held numerous technical jobs working with computers while DeDe worked at UPS. They decided to have a family and adopted their first child Joseph. After Joey came into their lives Jesse decided to become a stay-at-home Dad to care for his family. Then he and DeDe adopted Jasmine and Autumn. Jesse was the one who was their everyday with his kids. From doing little girls’ hair to keeping an active son busy, Jesse was up for the challenge. He dedicated his time and energy to his children and his wife.Jesse had all kinds of hobbies and talents. He could work on cars; he was an excellent wood worker, and he was passionate about shooting and loved his gun collection. Jesse always loved computers and computer games. Jesse’s favorite thing to do was to sing. He had a wonderful singing voice and spent hours singing Karaoke. At one time he even moonlighted as a Karaoke DJ in a club. He was a man of many talents.Jesse did not think his life could get any better and then his grandchildren came into his life and suddenly he went from Daddy to Papo. He loved being Papo. His house is always full of laughter and loud voices. There is playing games, making cupcakes, silly cat videos, swimming, and vacations to Disney. Papo was always in the middle of the mischief and also there to kiss the boo’s boo’s away.Jesse was deeply loved by his family and is survived by his wife, DeDe, and children, Joseph Salcedo, Jasmine Valles, Autumn Lara. Their spouses, Priscilla, AJ, and Nick. Grandchildren, Llewelyn, Jaina, Natalie, Luciana, Leo Jesse, and another grandson arriving in September of this year, Jericho. His Parents, Sherry Ellis and Jesse Salcedo.He is survived by his brothers and sisters’ in-laws that loved him as a true brother and friend. He will be missed by all his family including, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. Jesse was a friend to all. He was loved by his neighbors, his gun show buddies and all his numerous friends.He was such a kind human with the desire to help when and where he could. Jesse loved family. He embraced having such a big family and loved each of us truly. There will be a very large hole in our family tree where Jesse used to be. He will never be forgotten and will always bring smiles and laughter when we hear that song he used to sing, or play that game he liked, or eat breakfast in a condo without him being our chef. Our hearts are full of fondness and gratitude for the time that God allowed us to share in the life of Jesse, Jess, Uncle Jesse, Daddy or PaPo.
A Memorial Service will be held at Madison Hills Baptist Church, 15413 O’Connor Road, San Antonio, TX 78247, Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 3:00pm.
