Jesse J. Peralta, Jr. (Jesus Jeronimo) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his home in Katy, Texas. After courageously battling a lengthy illness, the family was blessed to bring him home for his final days. Mr. Peralta passed away with peace and grace surrounded by his loving wife, Isabel B. Peralta, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Though our hearts are heavy, we are blessed to celebrate and carry on the legacy of family and faith that he leaves for us.
Mr. Peralta was born and reared in San Antonio, Texas to Jesus Peralta and Irene Robledo Peralta. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1956 where he was active in Student Council and ROTC. He attended St. Mary’s University on academic scholarship where he excelled at academics and again demonstrated leadership through ROTC. In 1988, he completed post graduate work at the University of Houston Executive Development Training program, on a scholarship from the US Treasury.
Upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University in 1960, Mr. Peralta served as a teacher at South Cross Middle School while concurrently teaching evening adult education classes in Harlandale ISD. In 1966, Mr. Peralta embarked on a successful career as an executive with the US Treasury Department. Because of his leadership, dedication to service, and ability to produce positive results, Mr. Peralta received various performance awards, including a Presidential citation. Mr. Peralta was a leader who produced results through positive and productive relationships he built and modeled. As such, he was promoted to several leadership positions in the Houston, Dallas, and Los Angeles offices of the IRS. He effectively ascended the leadership and management ranks and ultimately attained the position of Division Chief, Collection Division before retiring. In 1997, Mr. Peralta and his son, Joseph Peralta, founded J. Peralta & Associates and Metro Tax Service, a highly successful tax consultancy business serving clients in the Houston and San Antonio areas.
What started with a surprise kiss for her 18th birthday grew into Mr. Peralta’s greatest legacy: his family. Though they lived in the same San Antonio neighborhood and crossed paths in high school, it wasn’t until 1958 that Mr. Peralta truly connected with the love of his life, Isabel Briseno. With his many professional successes and growing career, together Jesse and Isabel would move their family across the USA and model for their four children the tenacity, perseverance, hard work, and commitment it takes to realize your dreams and always, always take care of the family. Above all else, Mr. Peralta taught his family the true meaning of faith and giving thanks to God for the abundance of blessings bestowed upon our family. Mr. Peralta is a member of the Roman Catholic Church where he served at various parishes at different times as Parish Board Member, Eucharistic Minister, and Chairperson of various fundraising activities. Mr. & Mrs. Peralta are currently members of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community in Katy, Texas.
