Jay Brian Dotson, born December 19, 1937, passed away on January 18, 2020 at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Dotson; mother, Martha Rogers; daughter, Donna Dotson Spear; brother, Tracy Dotson and son in-law, Henry Lara. Jay is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Katherine Dotson; daughters, Diana Dotson Lara, Debby Dotson Myrick; sons, Danny Dotson, Donald Dotson; grandchildren, Cody Lara, Troy Lara, Danielle Myrick, Larry Myrick, Jay Dotson, Alex Dotson and 11 great grandchildren.
Jay served in the Navy two years active duty and 12 years in the reserves and later retired as an electrician from Friedrich A\C. He also served with the Knights of Columbus at St. John Neumann Catholic Church and was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Some of his hobbies included making rosaries, participating in Texas Hold’em tournaments, and he was also known to be a cat and dog lover. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will also be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 10:00 am, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
