Janie Cerna Vasquez of San Antonio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 1, 2023 after battling a severe pulmonary illness. Her courage, strength and compassion remained strong until her last breath. Janie asked us all to smile when we thought of her, as she did not want us to shed tears but to simply love one another.
Janie was born October 14, 1956 to her late parents Francisca and Jose Cerna. Janie received her cosmetology license in 1989 where she loved serving her clients with friendly sarcasm and a compassionate heart for everyone. Janie was a hard and dedicated business owner and worked six days a week until she recently retired due to her illness.
When you think of Janie and everything she loved, you remember her husband, 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, the San Antonio Spurs, her birds, and of course her dogs.
