Janice M. Johnston of Cibolo passed away August 1, 2019 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 80. She was born on 11/29/1938 in Ashville, OH. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, baking, and doing girls day outings with her daughters, daughter-in-law and grand-daughters. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at The Attic for The Country Church in Marion. When her grandchildren were young, she had a tradition of baking cookies and decorating Christmas ornaments together. Janice and her husband enjoyed taking trips with The Country Church, and she especially enjoyed her annual visits home to Ohio to see her sisters.
Her husband was blessed with the very best wife, friend, lover, caregiver and mother to their four children. During their 59 years of marriage, she provided so many blessings and exciting life experiences. He was blessed by God to have such a wonderful life partner.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Lillian Sanders; sisters, Jeanne Divito, Dorothy Ramsey and Elizabeth Sherrod; brothers, Emerson Sanders, William Sanders and Alfred Sanders. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jimmie; children, Susan (Scott), Robert (Donna), Richard (Amy) and Diane. Grandchildren, Christine, Tanner (Hailie), Cody, Michelle, Preston and Landon; great-grandchildren, Calliope and Isaiah; sisters, Irene Cottrill and Evelyn “Mickey” Schreiber, and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, UT Health San Antonio, Mays Cancer Center, Vitas Hospice, AA HealthCare services and The Country Church family for their love and support during this time. We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for their love and support.
