Jane C. Goforth

Jane C. Goforth went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the age of 96. She was born on April 22, 1921 to Claude and Janie Crim in Pine Hill, Texas. Jane graduated from Eagle Lake High School and from Southwest Texas State Teacher’s College. Jane worked as an English teacher and band director for 10 years before becoming a devoted, full-time wife and mother. She married Roger B. Goforth in 1949. Jane was a charter member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church and a long-time member of Churchill Baptist Church. She had a passion for gardening, Sacred Harp singing, and Bible study.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger. She is survived by her children Janie Short, Rod (Holly) Goforth, and John (Nancy) Goforth, and 10 grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15th at Sunset Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 16th at 1:00 pm at Churchill Baptist Church, 12400 Vista View; San Antonio, TX 78231 with entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
