To the Gaitan Family: I am very Sorry to hear the sad news. Miss Jane is one of the most generous, caring and kind person that I know. I will never forget how she helped her staff and the survivors after Hurricane Katrina. It has been my honor and privilege to have worked alongside with her. Rest In Peace, Miss Jane.

Words cannot express my sympathy for the loss of Jane, a wonderful person.  Will greatly be missed.  Peace to her family.

Ms. Jane was a Jewel and she will be truly missed by me. I last saw her about 7 weeks ago and until today I was anticipating the next deployment where we would meet again. May God Continue to Bless you all family. Much Love and Respect for your mom who was calm, cool and collective on her job.

FEMA will not be the same without Jane. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.  

Lynn & I extend our condolences to the Gaitan family on Jane's passing. We worked with Jane on many Jefferson Neighborhood projects over the years.

My deepest sympathy to Jane's family.  We go way back to our grade school days at Cathedral school. The world has lost someone very special.

Jane and her brothers John and Paul were blessed to have wonderful, caring supportive parents who were role models for many of us.

Jane's father John was one of dad's best and loyal friends and a one time semi-pro boxer who loved sports and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jane's dad wa a huge Pirate fan, especially of Roberto Clemente. He secured an autographed Roberto Clemente baseball for Jane. We talked about that at her dad's funeral as Roberto was my favorite as well. Her mom Edith was special.  She worked at City Hall and typed my high school term paper.

They were active in the activities of our Cathedral parish. 

Jane graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle and made her life caring for others in times of need, a very special lady indeed. 

She will be missed, always in our hearts. May God bless and comfort you.  I will have a Mass rememberance for Jane at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament her in Altoona.

I have known Jane for years and most recently worked with her in South Carolina. She was the loveliest lady with love for her children and grandchildren. We laughed a lot in South Carolina and I was proud to have her on my team.  I am so very sorry for your loss and wish I could say something truly eloquent to express how much she will be missed by her FEMA family.

A friend I grew up with and went to Elementary school with and spent time with her many days.

I was very fortunate to have worked with Jane in several deployments. I still am in denial of her death. I will miss her. My prayers and my sincere condolences to all her family.
