James Michael Sims

It is with great sadness that the family of James Michael Sims, age 67, announce his passing on January 10, 2024. He was born on October 29, 1956 in San Antonio, TX to James L. and Helen (Tomek) Sims. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Sims, mother-in-law Katherine Grizzard, and brother-in-law Ronney Grizzard.

James is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Gail, sons Cody Sims and William Grizzard, grandchildren Lily and Liam Grizzard, all of San Antonio, TX, sisters Mary (Wayne) Karstadt of Frelsburg, TX and Debbie (Don) Wehe of Spring Branch, TX, brother John (Cheryl) Sims of Spring Branch, TX, sister-in-law Sherri Luedecke of Canyon Lake, TX, brother-in-law Gary (Debbie) Grizzard of Denver, CO, and numerous nephews and nieces.

A rosary service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10:00-10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 223 E. Summit Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212, followed by a funeral mass from 10:30-11:30 am. A celebration of life will be immediately following the mass at the reception room at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX, 78218.

Pallbearers include Cody Sims, William Grizzard, Kenny Herlacher, Jarrett Karstadt, James Wehe, and Joshua Sims.
