He is preceded in death by his parents and his cherished wife, Joyce. Jim is survived by his children Jonathan (Karyn), David (Stephanie), and Jenise, along with his grandchildren Brittany, Joyce, and Ella, and his grand pets Maude and Simon.
Raised in California’s Bay Area, Jim joined the Army and served proudly for 22 years, achieving the rank of Sgt. First Class. After retiring in San Antonio, he continued to serve through Civil Service. Known for his love of the 49ers, video poker, Red Lobster, PBS, history and great cinema, Jim was a kind-hearted and joyful man, always able to bring laughter to those around him.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home located at 1701 Austin Highway San Antonio, Texas 78218.
