James Roy Murray

James "Roy" Murray, Jr., born in San Antonio, died on June 7, 2017. He attended Jefferson High School. After a career as an Attorney and Real Estate Broker he retired to pursue a life as an accomplished artist and proud member of The Watercolor Gang. He enjoyed a passion for the great outdoors and being able to capture its beauty in his paintings.

He loved fishing, gatherings with family and friends by a campfire, a good laugh and the fellowship of sharing the joys of life with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy and Lillian Marie Murray.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; sister, Carolyn M. Barrett; children, J. Roy and Amy Murray, Deb and Dave Staat, Susan Murray, Carolyn and Frank Mora, Beverly Castellaw, Teresa and Doug Czaja; step-children, Cindy and Tim Timmins, Catherine and Kipper Burke; nephews, Roy and Burns Magruder; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
