James “Jimmy” Garcia, was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 22, 1959 and went to be with our Lord on January 7, 2018 at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elodia Lozano Garcia and his sister, Carol Garcia. James is survived by his sisters, Wendy Padilla (Ray), Irene Hernandez (David) and Norma Gomez; nephews, nieces, uncle, aunts, cousins and special friends, including his best friend of many years, Cindy Vargas.
Jimmy was a loving son and brother. As a special needs person, he was a forgiving friend who never found fault with anyone and was always happy to see you. He was a very independent person, with a resilient, scrappy spirit about him and rarely let things get him down. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like riding the bus downtown, walking to the corner store, going to the movies (with Cindy), loved to eat out and enjoyed reading the newspaper every day. His gentle spirit will be missed and we will remember his lifelong desire for us to always love one another – no matter the circumstances.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 at San Fernando Cemetery II at 1:30 p.m.
