Colonel James (Jim) Lee Flanagan of San Antonio passed away in his home on October 10, 2011 at the age of 92. Col Flanagan was born to Hudson Flanagan and Minnie Lee Flanagan on February 5, 1919 in Meridian Mississippi. He earned his Bachelors degree from Louisiana State University. Col Flanagan spent 28 years in the US Air Force and was a decorated WWII war hero. The stories Col Flanagan shared were incredible; he was truly an honorable man of courage, dedication and integrity. After he retired from the US Air Force Col Flanagan and his wife May moved to San Antonio where he managed the local branch of Paine Webber. His patriotism to his country could only be rivaled by his love for his wife May. Col Flanagan is survived by his daughters Peggy Flanagan and Leigh Harrod. He was preceded in death by his wife May Flanagan and son Michael Flanagan. Military services will be held on October 21st, at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston followed by a reception at his home.
