James A. Alexander (Jim) was called home to be with his Lord on February 12, 2021, at the age of 85. He was born June 4, 1935, in Memphis Tn. to Vernon A. and Bernice M. Alexander. He was married to the love of his life, Willodean M. Alexander, for 50 years before the Lord called her home in February 2005. All have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children; Austin Alexander, Terri and Jon Moore, Michael and Kelly Alexander; his grandchildren, Christopher Moore, Lauren Moore, Justin Moore, Chelsy and Brandon Steinkuehler, Aaron Alexander, and Abby Alexander; and his greatgrandchildren, Willodean and Grey Steinkuehler.
Jim was a graduate of Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tn. then attended Georgia Tech University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. His life’s work was one of complete dedication to God and his family. His commitment was always to provide on so many levels. God gave us the privilege of sharing this wonderful man. We are all better people for the influence, guidance, and wisdom he gave to each of us. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 24th from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 10 am. The family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer Association or his church, Coker United Methodist, in lieu of flowers.
