For 83 years, Isabel Z. Vasquez touched many lives with her graceful love and care. The gates of heaven were ready to receive her April 8, 2024. She was born November 5, 1940 to parents, Julia Torres and Castulo Zuniga in Dale, Texas and was one of ten children.
She will be missed but remembered by her passion in bringing family together through celebrated events. Especially her crafty decorations, delicious cakes/cupcakes and fun filled games that always brought much laughter.
Her generous time was also dedicated to volunteering as a grandma at Sisters of Immaculate Conception and extended her love for children. The glow in her smile and enthusiasm in participating in the annual Halloween costume contest brought much joy, especially when she won first place many times. Isabel also found happiness in watching western movies and listening to Elvis. Some of her treasured memories were family road trips, specifically to Kickapoo and the visit to Graceland in Tennessee. Particularly the road trips to visit her best friend, Gloria Blanton, and morning and evening fishing at the lake.
Isabel is preceded in death by her granddaughter Jennifer Marie Vasquez, parents Julia and Castulo Zuniga, siblings Eulogia Ramon, Wilfreda Gatica, Leocadio Zuniga, Feliciana Zuniga, Eluteria Montanez, Dario Zuniga and Amado Zuniga.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Manuel Vasquez Sr., children Elizabeth Campos, Juan Manuel Vasquez (Marilyn), Suzanne Cuellar (Henry), and Manuel Vasquez Jr. Grandchildren, Daniel Campos, Robyn Campos, Erich Campos, Jasmyne Campos, John Manuel Vasquez, Jaylene Marie Vasquez, Samantha Cuellar and Jon Cuellar, brothers, Nieves Zuniga (Yolanda De Leon), Feliciano Zuniga (Dolores) and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces’ nephews and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, with prayer service at 5:30pm and a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm at Funeraria De Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, doors will open at 9:00 and will go in procession for a 10:00am Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine Avenue followed by burial to San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Road, San Antonio, TX 78237.
