Isabel C. De La Garza

Isabel C. De La Garza, beloved mother and grandmother, entered rest on July 6, 2012 at the age of 92. Isabel was born in Houston, Texas to Phillip and Ciria Herrera on January 20, 1920. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University and with a Master’s Degree from University of the Incarnate Word. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Isabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Candelario De La Garza and a daughter, Sofia Jackson. She is survived by her son, Luis H. De La Garza and wife, Shirley; grandchildren: Jeffry Jackson and wife Kimberly Davis, Tracy De La Garza and wife Denise, Paulette Elizondo and husband Frank; great-grandchildren: Danielle, Zachary, Rey and Dylan. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
