

Irma C. Moreno, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the age of 56. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to parents Eugenio and Petra Cortez, on May 16, 1956. She was the ultimate example of a wife and mother because of the sacrifices she made in order to be the woman God called her to be. Her passion was teaching young children. Her dedication and commitment for them was seen through her abundant love and Godly example that she displayed. She taught at Sunnybrook Christian Academy and at Lackland Gateway CDC. She was preceded in death by her parents. Irma is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Larry N. Moreno; son Larry H. Moreno (Brenda); daughters Marina Heye (Isaac), Miranda Castillo (Jonathan), Margaret Castillo (CJ); grandchildren, Abigail, Gabriela, Larynn & Israel Moreno, & Madisyn Castillo. Her grandchildren were her pride and JOY. Sisters: Gloria Cortez, Delia Ruiz; Brothers: Eugenio, Joe & Robert Cortez, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. The family will receive friends at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main, on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 3pm-9pm with a Prayer Service beginning at 7pm. The Funeral service will be held at Temple of Praise, 1620 Pinn Road, the following morning Friday, February 15, 2013 at 9 am. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston Natl.
