Ignacio C. Ramos

Ignacio “Nacho” Ramos passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2013 in San Antonio TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisca and Jesus Ramos and younger brother, Jesse. He is survived by his wife, Rosa D. Ramos; daughter, Leslie Marie Reyes (husband Eddie); sisters, Susie Rodriguez, Annie Fernandez, Carmen Salazar (husband Val), Henrietta Vargas (husband Pete), Antonia De La Cerda, Janie De La Cerda (husband Henry), Mary Helen Ramos and numerous nephews and nieces. Ignacio graduated from Fox Tech High School and attend St Phillips Junior College. He was a member of the 433rd Air Force Reserve for six years; worked at the San Antonio Air Logistics Center for 35 years where he retired in 1999 and was married to Rosa D. Ramos for 46 years. Ignacio was a caring and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed life to its fullest. His greatest satisfaction was in helping and serving others. At St Dominic Catholic Church he served as an Usher/Mass Coordinator for 20 years; was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2323 where he thoroughly enjoyed cooking their annual chicken barbeque dinners; and served in many festival committees throughout his 25 years at St Dominics. For the last two years, he became a member of Our Lady of Grace in La Coste TX. His greatest joy was helping family members and will always be remembered as a role model to all. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. Thursday, December 12, 2013 for a 10:00 A.M. funeral mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Road, with Rev. Paul Cleary of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, Texas and Rev. Phillip Henning officiating. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery # 2.
