Humberto de la Cerda Rivera, 87, entered eternal rest on December 9, 2020. He was born on June 15, 1933 in San Buena Ventura Coahuila, Mexico to Constancio and Ines Rivera. He passed away at home with his beloved wife and family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Manuel, Juan, Rodolfo, Constancio, Augustine, Maria Antonia and Elisa; and his grandson Francisco Pereda Jr. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eulogia Menchaca Rivera; children, Anna Maria Pereda (Francisco), Humbert Rivera Jr (Cynthia) and Hector Rivera (Monica); grandchildren, Clarissa Pereda, Jason Rivera, Jacob Rivera, Matthew Trimble, Christian Rivera, Alejandro Rivera and Andrew Rivera; great-grandchildren, Preston Miller and Sara Rivera; sister, Hortencia Villarreal; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Humberto was a loving husband and great father. He resided in San Antonio for most of his life and proudly ran H.C. Rivera Grocery Store then La Estrella Grocery Store in San Antonio’s westside. Those that knew him, will long remember his generous heart, his tight and loving hugs, his sense of humor, and that he was quite the bailador. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2114 W. Houston street on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic church with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery # 2.
