Hernan Jose Perez

Hernan Jose Perez (77) of Bolivar, Colombia, passed away on August 12, 2018. Hernan moved to New York City as a young seminary student in March, 1964. He moved his family to Houston, Texas in 1980 during the oil boom and learned a machinist’s trade, before becoming a resident of San Antonio, Texas for many years.

Hernan is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Anne (Morris) Perez of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Patricia Anne Perez and her husband Jeff Varnado, of Willis, Texas; daughter Sharon Ries and her husband Stephen Ries, of San Antonio; son Antony H. Perez and his wife Alicia Ybarra-Perez, of San Antonio; daughter Yvonne Ponce and her husband Ralph Ponce, of Cedar Park, Texas. He will be lovingly remembered by his nine beautiful grandchildren.

A private remembrance was held in his home with friends and family. Hernan's ashes will be scattered at sea, with a portion reserved for scattering in his hometown in Colombia.
