Following this time, he worked in various manual labor trades until eventually settling in San Antonio, Texas and embarking upon a long, successful and proud career with the Pearl Brewing Company from which he eventually retired. Heriberto overcame many obstacles in his life: poverty, lack of education, loss. Throughout it all, he continually held family near his heart and gave them a hand in any way he could.
