
He was born at Fortress Monroe, Virginia, on July 4, 1914.
A Honor Military Graduate from University of California at Los Angeles in 1938 he entered active military service and received a regular commission in 1939.
In 1958 he voluntarily retired after twenty years service. During these years he served as an observor with United Nations Special Committee on the Balkans in Greece, received a MBA from The University of Texas, Ausitn in 1953; conducted a specialized manpower control training course for Headquarters, Turkish Defense Forces in Ankara, Turkey-wrote the text translated into Turkish.
Upon retiring in 1958 he returned to The University of Texas, Austin to earn his Ph.D. degree.
In 1959 to 1979 he taught Personnel Management and Industrial Management, at U.T. Austin, San Jose State College, CA and spent last fourteen years at Trinity University, San Antonio, TX, retiring in 1979.
He then pursued hobbies of reading about World War II, gardening, photography, grocery shopping, and being a "fire buff" interested in staffing and the equipment of companies all over USA.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Lorraine Stephenson; daughter, Mary S. Park, and her husband, David M. Parker of Anniston, AL; twin grandsons, David Michael Parker, Birmingham, AL. and Richard Lee Parker of New York, NY.
