arms of his beloved wife. Buddy was born August 20, 1933 in San Antonio, Tx. On May 27,
1960 he married the love of his life, Bess Louise Gibson Clark and they would have three
children in addition to Buddy's first child Michael.
He served in the United States Armed Services during the Korean war. He was a military police
officer from 1955-1956 when he returned home he found a job working in the mail room at City
Public Service from which he would retire in 1995 with 39 years of service as a Supervisor and
“right of way agent” in the Engineering Department. Buddy maintained a real estate license and
worked as a part time real estate broker.
He was an avid outdoorsman who never missed a hunt or fishing trip with his father, son,
brother-in-law Harvey Jones and /or his extended family of CPS friends. He was happiest during
dove and deer season when he could spend weekends hunting. Buddy spent years fishing
Aransas Bay with his father, son, and daughters (if they would go), uncle and cousins, enjoying
the family vacation cabin in Rockport, Tx. In his early years he loved playing golf and most
recently watching others play on the golf channel daily. Buddy loved being at his place in
Yancey where he spent his retirement days working on fence, tending to and feeding his cattle,
while waiting for the next hunting season to open.
Buddy was preceded in death by his Loving Parents, mother Arzelia Bernice “Bunnie" Hagel
and father Meinerth George Hagel. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bess Louise Clark of
San Antonio, son Michael J. Clark of Houston, daughter Donna Clark Stutes of San Antonio,
daughter Patricia Mosier and her husband Chester “Chip” Mosier of Iola, Tx, son Thomas
William Clark and wife Christine Clark of Yancey, Tx. Buddy and Bess have nine
grandchildren-Scott J. Stutes, Amber L. Stutes, C. Nicole Stutes, Casi M. Kelly (husband
Travis), Cody G. Clark (wife Jessica), Ryan E. Clark (wife Sarah), Raegan Clark, Cami Mosier,
Austin Whitfield (Stutes), two great grandchildren Thomas Clark and Aida Clark, sister in law
Carolyn Figueroa, brother in law Gerald Maloney and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great
nieces and great nephews.
Join us to celebrate the life of H. E “Buddy" Clark at Sunset Memorial Park 1701 Austin
Highway, San Antonio, Tx. 78232 on Saturday February 8, 2020 at 10 am. A graveside service
and reception will follow.
