Gwendolyn G. Hough

August 6, 1940 – January 2, 2020

Gwendolyn Geroud Hough (Boykin) fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 79. She was born on August 6, 1940 in Lloyd, Florida. She spent most of her life in San Antonio, Texas. She married James Arthur Hough in 1961, they were together for 58 years. She loved gardening, crafts, and cooking, but most of all she loved her family which always came first. She was one of eleven children born to Maurice and Ollie Boykin. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Guy Boykin, Etta Maude Cooksey, Maurice Boykin, Kenneth Boykin, Everette Boykin, Marjorie Crosby, Ernest Boykin, Martha Lee Noffsinger, Earl Boykin, and James Boykin.

She is survived by her loving husband, James; daughter, Jolene Fussell (Steve), and daughter, Stephanie Stephens (David). Four grandchildren, Ben Fussell (Merredith), Emily Killinger and Jordan Hammons, True and Salome Stephens. Four Great Grandchildren, Gunner, Cooper, Kutter, and Grammar Fussell. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Gwen loved gospel music and was an active member of Trinity Baptist church. She retired from Zachry Construction after 21 years of service. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 4:30pm-8:30pm at Sunset Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 12:00pm noon at the Sunset Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
