Gwendolyn Claire Anderson

Gwendolyn Claire Anderson was freed from her earthly bonds and joined the angels in heaven on July 4, 2023 at the age of 87. Her last hours were spent with her loved ones by her side. Gwenn was born on June 12 , 1936, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Robert and Virginia Nettles.

In 1946, Her family moved to Pleasanton, Texas, where she spent the next the next 40 years of her life raising her four children. She and all of her children attended Pleasanton schools. Gwenn was inspired to pursue a nursing license after her experience with the passing of her own mother. She spent ten years serving patients at Retama Manor. Outside of work her passions included reading, painting, and bowling In 1982 she met and married the love of her life, Jerry C Anderson. Soon thereafter, Gwenn and Jerry began their dream life of traveling, boating, dancing and entertaining their children and grandchildren at their little country home in Seguin.

She leaves behind her children Sandra Carroll (Dick), Joni Adamitz(Ronald), Frank Burrier (Ruth), and Jim Burrier (Julia), as well as eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was pre deceased by her beloved husband Jerry, her parents, and her siblings Wallace Ford, Rosalie Young, and Roberta Graham.

A visitation for Gwendolyn will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
