She is preceded in death by her beloved parents; Santiago Alvarado, Juanita Alvarado, her husband, Pedro D. Martinez; her children; Maria Elena Martinez, Trina Martinez, Antonio Martinez.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by her devoted children; Pedro Martinez Jr. (Erma), George Martinez, Juan Martinez (Lucy), Raul Martinez (Minerva), Mary Estrada (Abel), Sibling; Consuelo Aguirre, 15 Grandchildren, 45 Great grandchildren, 10 Great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martinez was a very loving grandmother to all her grandchildren, she would always look forward to their visits. Growing up in Monterrey, Mexico Mrs. Martinez worked in a sewing factory where she found the passion to sew. Mrs. Martinez became a U.S. citizen in 1995. Guadalupe was very involved in the community from becoming a Sunday reader at the St. Alphonsus Catholic church and a treasurer at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church, she was also involved in politics.
Guadalupe was the most compassionate, loving, generous woman anyone got to meet, although she was known for many wonderful contributions within her community she will always be recognized for having the best tortillas on the west side of San Antonio. The family would like to give a special Thank You to the Heart to Heart Hospice, Dr. Manuel Estrada, Nurse Miss Jennifer Gaona, Dr. Ninza Sanchez for giving the care and comfort mom deserved.
A visitation will be on Monday June 15,2020 at 5:00 pm. at Trevino funeral home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. On Tuesday June 16, 2020 a funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando II Cemetery.
