Guadalupe Garcia

December 12, 1927 – November 29, 2024
Obituary of Guadalupe Garcia
IN THE CARE OF

Funeraria del Angel Trevino

Guadalupe Garcia, born on December 12, 1927, in Woodberry, Michigan, to Esteban Rivera and Antonia Sanchez, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 96.

Guadalupe’s parents, migrant farmers, journeyed from Michigan to Monterrey, Mexico, before settling in San Antonio, Texas, where Guadalupe made her home.

A devout Catholic and hardworking woman, Guadalupe dedicated her life to her family, work, and faith. She worked for many years in a sewing factory and as a housekeeper, embodying a tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment. Beyond her professional life, Guadalupe was a caregiver, providing love and guidance to her grandchildren, great-nieces, nephews, and children who became like family.

Her home was filled with the warmth of her hospitality and the aroma of her specialty lemon meringue pies, which she lovingly prepared for family and friends. Guadalupe cherished her community and exemplified kindness, generosity, and devotion to those around her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by all who knew her.

Guadalupe reunites in heaven with her beloved husband, Miguel Garcia; her son, Esteban Garcia; and her great-grandsons, Justin and Levi Garcia.

Guadalupe’s memory will live on in the hearts of her children, Maria Del Carmen Gutierrez and Miguel Garcia Jr.; her sister, Maria Duran; her daughter-in-law, Evangeline Garcia; her grandchildren, Erica Ramos-Garcia, Elissa Garcia, Esteban Garcia Jr., Valerie Frazier, Veronica Ibarra, Roberto Gutierrez Jr., Priscilla Gutierrez-Idar, Doreen Cardenas, and Aprilynn Garcia; and her 12 great-grandchildren.

Guadalupe will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her love of family, her faith, and the many lives she touched.
