Grover W. Parrott, age 92 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife Teri and beloved Westie Bruno. Grover was born in Zavalla, Texas to Ollie & Mable Parrott.
At 16 Grover joined the Army, he served with the 82nd Airborne Division from Aug 4, 1947 to Dec. 15, 1953. Later he attended the University of Houston earning his Pharmacy degree. He spent many years in Lufkin, Texas where he owned and ran his own Pharmacy and later worked at Laurel Heights, M & S Towers and Pru Care once he moved to San Antonio, Texas.
Grover was always a faithful Christian and loyal friend. He loved his Community Bible Church family, and playing golf as a member of The Club at Sonterra. He was an avid member of the Scottie/Westie Rescue of SA and past member of the Alamo Silver Wings Airborne Association. Grover also enjoyed spending time going to the gym and reading.
Family was his greatest treasure in life, Grover leaves behind his loving family; his wife Teruyo (Teri) Parrott, his brother Delbert Parrott, Lufkin, TX. His daughters; Janet (husband Michael) Coffer, Reno, Nevada, Denise Dixon, Lufkin, TX, Cheryl (husband Rick) Lindell, Austin, TX and son Robert (wife Kelly) Parrott, Hot Springs, AK. His grandchildren, Jennifer Freeman, Lufkin TX, Stephen, Kevin, Christopher, John Michael, Luke Parrott, Hot Springs AK, and Great grandchildren, Natalie Rasberry, Plano, TX and Mason Dominy, Pennington, TX.
Grover has now reunited with Parents Ollie and Mable Parrott, Sister Eunice Collins, his brothers Edward, Buford and James Parrott, grand-daughter Melissa Dixon, mother-in-law Sakae Ogawa (Oka-san).
A graveside service for Grover will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery Shelter #1, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, TX 78234. A Celebration of Life will follow at The Club at Sonterra at 12:30 PM, 901 Sonterra Blvd, San Antonio, Texas 78258.
