Gloria E. Cruz

Gloria Elodia Cerda Cruz entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the age of 93 years. She was born April 11, 1924 to Eusebio Cerda and Angela Hernandez she was the seventh and youngest child of the union. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters. She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Edward R. Cruz, son, Edward Cruz Jr., grandchildren Melinda Cruz and Robert A. Cruz, son-in-law, Tommy Leifester. She is survived by her daughter in law Dominga V. Cruz, son Rev. Deacon Roberto Cruz and wife Sylvia, daughter, Delia Leifester and grandchildren Gabriel and Daniel Cruz, Jason and John Leifester. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the staff of Rivercity Hospice especially to Nurse Diane and Sister Josefina and to the staff at Buena Vida Nursing Home and Rehabilitation.

Viewing at Roy Akers Funeral Chapels will begin at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A 10:00 Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Church, Somerset, TX on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 10:00am on Monday, February 26, 2018.
