Glenn Edward Hall "Buzzy" born June 17, 1947 was welcomed into the arms of his savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday March 12, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Glenn is survived by his beloved family, brother, Richard F Hall Jr.; niece, Roanna K Hall; nephew, Richard F Hall III, and other relatives and numerous friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Richard F. Hall, Sr. and Genevieve Burk Hall. Glenn loved the Lord and worshipped at Highland Boulevard Church of Christ and later at Crestway Church of Christ where he enjoyed receiving the word of God from Brother Mark Davis. Glenn was a proud graduate of Hot Wells Junior High and Highlands High School class of 1965. He was a center for the 1964 state finals football team. He graduated from UT Austin with a degree in marketing. After graduation, he entered into the oil and gas industry starting with Gulf Oil in Houston and later returned to San Antonio to work for Tesoro Petroleum and the Exploration Co. of Texas. Glenn was also proud of the numerous friendships he maintained with his classmates that extended over 50 years. Glenn loved being a Texan and an American. He happily attended gatherings with past co-workers and members of the San Antonio Thunderbird Club. Glenn will be remembered for his friendships and unending kindness to others. He will also be remembered for his amazing knowledge and loyalty to the Highlands Owls, Texas Longhorns and San Antonio Spurs. Sadly, Glenn will not be at the Texas Relays where he has been a fixture for decades. He will be greatly missed by so many who knew and loved him. Special thanks to JD English, James Hughes, Charles Meyer, and numerous friends who continued to support him during his illness. He left a hole in their hearts that will be hard to fill. Glenn’s Highlands High School classmates will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held Monday March 18th from 5pm to 8pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10am Tuesday March 19th at Crestway Church of Christ 6770 Crestway Drive. Following the service, Glenn will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. A reception for family and friends will be held at Earl Abel’s 1201 Austin Highway.
