Mi Rey,
Having been married to you
for 48yrs were the best I knew
not of my present but of my past,
because today you are laid to rest.
Now my future, what will it be
without you here with me?
have a question for God.…Why
did he take you allowing you to die?
Today, yesterday and tomorrow
my heart is and will fill with great sorrow.
Only those who truly love you know
my heart suffered a great blow
when God took you to his heavenly home,
leaving me broken and alone.
I will be lost in many ways,
nights will be long so will my days.
For all I have now are my memories
of us, our favorite movies and melodies.
From here on end, I won't be able to see you
but know you will see me through,
when I need strength and guidance
hoping to hear you when there's silence.
Wish I could close my eyes and pretend
that your life had not come to an end.
Hating that now I have to say Good-bye
only comforted and assured that you knew
with everything we've been through
there was never any doubt how much
I LOVE YOU!
